HAE Facts
Due to the rarity of HAE, this type of swelling is commonly misdiagnosed as allergic angioedema or appendicitis—leading to delays in diagnosis, inadequate treatment, and unnecessary procedures1
Treatment for HAE is distinct from angioedema associated with histamine since antihistamines, corticosteroids, and epinephrine have little effect on HAE swelling31
HAE includes two distinct therapeutic strategies: measures to prevent attacks and treatment for acute episodes2
